Raising money for "Help for Heroes"....

Cliff Williams from Halliwell Jones Warrington is organising, together with a few other members of the Halliwell Jones staff, a charity event in August 2010 in aid of “HELP FOR HEROES”

The event will take the form of a motorcycle run from Lands End to John O Groats, taking 5 days to complete.  They will be doing this on two 125cc scooters accompanied by a serving soldier, Andy Reid from St Helens. Hence the rather apt name of the numbumrun .

The main reasoning behind all this, what could be deemed as almost madness, is that whilst serving in Afghanistan in October 2009, Andy was out on a routine patrol in Helmand Province, when he stepped on a pressure plate initiating an I.E.D. (bomb) resulting in him losing both his legs and his right arm. On February 28th Andy will be attempting to ride a Trike Motorcycle for the first time at “Millenium Motorcycles” in St Helens, Merseyside.  This will in total be under four months from Battlefield to Motorbike which I’m sure you’ll agree, shows the true bravery of both Andy and our Servicemen and Women as a whole.

Cliff has worked really hard organising this event, and has even been spotted on the North West News in recent weeks, promoting this fantastic venture.  Various big names are behind them in sponsorship including ourselves here at Halliwell Jones. There is an online Auction for various items for which you can bid for and the money will go to “Help the Heroes”. Plus with every donation made, on the “Just Giving” website donate here make sure you leave your email address and you will be entered into a Prize Draw of which there are many prizes to be won including a Week in the 5* Marriott Marbella Beach Resort Hotel, various electrical gadgets and even some “genuine” signed Liverpool F.C memorabilia.

We here at Halliwell Jones wish, Cliff, Andy and the rest of the guys the best of luck, all we say is PLEASE take the time to support our HEROES, as they have supported our country  at a cost more dear to themselves than we could ever imagine.

Please feel free if you have anyfurther questions to contact Cliff himself via email on cliff@numbumrun.co.uk
